| Description: | Kaiser's Tengelmann AG, with its head office in Viersen, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Tengelmann group, based in Mülheim an der Ruhr. Kaiser's Kaffee Geschäft AG, which was originally founded in 1880, was taken over by the group in 1971. As a food retailing concern, we are represented by 750 branches in the four regions of North Rhine, Berlin and surrounding area, Rhine-Main-Neckar and Munich / Oberbayern.
By 1999, the Tengelmann group had united its Kaiser's and Tengelmann chains of supermarkets for organizational purposes. This unification was fully accomplished under company law in May, 2001, with the renaming of Kaiser's Kaffee Geschäft AG and Emil Tengelmann GmbH to Kaiser's Tengelmann AG. With over 20,000 employees, they achieve an annual turnover of 2,500 million €. |
