Iberia Plus is the frequent flyer program of Iberia Airlines, Spain's flag carrier. Launched in 1991, it eventually joined the oneworld alliance of international airlines in 1999, enabling members of this loyalty program to also earn points from flying with partner airlines.
Membership starts at the Classic level wherein members can avail of waitlist priority, reservation of preferred seats, and an upgrade to the elite levels upon fulfillment of requirements. Silver, the first elite level, is awarded to members who earn 1,250 points within 12 months. Awards include business class counter check in, excess baggage allowance, and insurance assistance. Its oneworld equivalent is the Ruby Tier Status.
Gold membership is awarded to those who earn 2,500 within 12 months. At this level, members can avail of all Silver benefits plus access to VIP waiting lounges, business or first class counter check in, and VIP parking. Its oneworld equivalent is the Sapphire Tier Status.
The Platinum level is attained once a member racks up 6,500 points within 12 months. Platinum members get the benefits of Gold membership plus, free limousine service, and use of the Iberia Plus Platinum Center. Its oneworld equivalent is the Emerald Tier Status.
One can earn miles or points upon purchase of Iberia Airlines and partner airline tickets. The number of points will depend on the fare paid and the route taken. |
