Through its Airpoints loyalty program, Air New Zealand offers its frequent flyers the opportunity to earn points and use them towards a variety of attractive rewards. Points are earned and accrued in unique program currency called “Airpoints Dollars.” Airpoints Dollars can be earned not only being an Air New Zealand frequent flyer, but also when you fly many of Air New Zealand’s partners in the Star Alliance consortium.
Airpoints status or membership tier is determined by the number of Status points earned. Depending on the number of Airpoints Dollars earned, you could qualify for Silver (450 points), Gold (900 points) or Gold Elite status (1,500 points). A minimum Airpoints balance is required to be maintained for each level.
Airpoints Dollars can be used in a variety of ways, including purchasing seats on Air New Zealand or partner flights. Points earned in the Airpoints loyalty program can also be redeemed for car rentals or hotel reservations.
Enrolment in the Airpoints program is free for international business class travellers on Air New Zealand; members of Air New Zealand’s Koru Lounge program are also automatically enrolled in the Airpoints program. If you don’t qualify for a free membership, you can enrol for a fee of NZ$50. |
