Miles & More is a free rewards program for Lufthansa's frequent flyers. The program was launched in 1993, and today Miles & More is fully integrated with partner airlines in addition to being part of the Star Alliance. Miles & More members earn points or miles that they can redeem for hotel stays, free flights, luggage, and other goods and services like the Lufthansa Worldshop. As Star Alliance members, they can also enjoy benefits such as smoother transfer options, free upgrades, and private airport lounges.
Lufthansa's frequent flyer program has four membership levels. In exchange for flying on Lufthansa flights, standard members earn award miles that expire after 36 months. Award miles never expire for Frequent Travelers, Senators, HON Circle Card holders, and Miles & More Credit Card holders. Members at all levels can also earn status miles, which expire after 12 months. Status miles are awarded for flying with Lufthansa and partner airlines. In addition, qualifying members can earn HON Circle Card miles for flying on partner airlines and for traveling German rail.
Lufthansa occasionally has bonus mile promotions. These let frequent flyers earn miles for checking in electronically, staying at certain hotels, or buying certain products. Double miles are sometimes offered to promote new routes. |

| Senator | - Senators are entitled to an "overdraft facility" of 50,000 miles. This can be used if miles are still required for a particular award.
- At the time when a qualification is reached or renewed, Senator Card holders will receive two eVouchers, for example for an upgrade on an intercontinental route.
- As a Senator, you need significantly fewer miles for a flight award for your travel companion. This privilege is called the Companion Award and means that a companion can fly with you for 50 % fewer miles than you yourself with Lufthansa, the Austrian Airlines Group and LOT Polish Airlines. For any Companion award the Senator and the Companion should always travel together.
- The baggage allowance for Senator Card holders comprises three items or 20 kg in addition to the baggage allowance of the carrier class.
- Top waiting list priority for fully booked Lufthansa flights.
- Check-in at the First Class counter and all Star Alliance Gold check-in counters, even if you have not booked a First Class flight.
- Use of the Lufthansa Senator lounges and Star Alliance lounges on the day of the flight in conjunction with a Lufthansa or Star Alliance ticket. Additionally the LH Senator Lounges in Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf and New York JFK are at your disposal on day of arrival. | You need to collect 130,000 status miles per year to earn Senator Status.
