Air India Flying Returns
Flying Returns is Air India’s frequent flying program. Members of the Flying Returns program can earn miles by flying on Air India, Indian Airlines and its partner airlines when they fly First Class, Business Class and Economy Class. After accumulating 10,000 mileage points or more, passengers can redeem their points when they fly with Air India, Indian Airlines, partner airlines as well as airlines that have code sharing with Air India.
Flying Returns was launched in India on June 1, 1994, which enabled Indian nationals above the age of 12 who signed up with the program to earn and redeem mile points when they fly on Air India or Indian Airlines; the loyalty program was later launched in the Gulf in 1997 and in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada on November 1, 2001.
Upon signing up, a member can start to earn point within the period of validity of the Flying Returns program, which is 36 months. The number of points earned is dependent on the class of travel as well as on whether it is an international or domestic flight. A first class traveler can earn up to 250% of actual miles travelled, a business class traveler can earn 200% of actual miles travelled while an economy class traveler can earn between 50% and 125% of actual miles travelled.
Flying Returns mile point awards are transferable to family members when redeemed. Members can transfer their accumulated mileage points to spouses and children who are between ages of 12 to 21. |
