South African Airlines rewards loyal customers through the Voyager Programme. Since 2006, members of this frequent flyer program have also received benefits from the Star Alliance, a network of airlines that endeavors to make traveling more convenient. Members of the South African Airlines (SAA) Voyager Programme can move through five membership levels as they earn miles or points. These include Blue, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Lifetime Platinum levels.
Membership level, or tier status, is attained by earning miles or by traveling through certain zones or sectors:
1. Members in the frequent flyer program receive one mile for each mile flown on South African Airways and its partner airlines. They also earn points for dollars spent with the company’s non-airline partners such as hotels and car rental agencies.
2. Members progress through tiers after purchasing premium economy, business, or first class tickets through certain sectors on South African Airways flights.
Bonus miles are awarded at sign-up, for business and first class purchases, and, at the upper levels, for maintaining tier status. Members also earn miles through special promotions and in appreciation for every 10,000 miles flown on SAA. |

04.25.2005: All Nippon Airways has joined the Voyager Programme. You will earn 50% of the flown miles with a discounted economy ticket, 100% of the miles when flying with a full fare coach ticket. If you fly business, you will earn 125% of the flown miles and 150% if you travel in first class. (Valid until: 12.31.2005)
03.28.2005: From 1 January to 31 March 2005, stay for a minimum of two consecutive nights at any participating Le Meridien hotel around the world and receive triple miles with selected partner airlines. (Valid until: 05.31.2005)
